As I write this, I'm preparing for my crazy trip across Scandinavia. I'm starting off in Bergen, Norway and making my way across to Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki and Tallinn. To say I'm excited is an understatement. I can't wait to post my travel pictures here. :)
Now -- for the reason we're here.. BSBP!
My fabulous partner, Stephanie Perry, and I have so much in common. Not only do we share a first name, but we share a work history -- Human Resources! She sent me a beautiful and HUGE soup. :) I loved the blues and greens. Of course, ceramics are always a huge favorite of mine. Here is a link to her blog: http://mustardbeadbystephanieperry.blogspot.com/
Here's what I sent her. After I looked at her blog, I elected to send two distinct soups: one in her comfort zone and one decidedly out. The owl soup seems to match her earthy preferences while the black one takes a bit of a bolder approach.
Now for the big reveal:! It took me a bit to decide what to do with the huge number of beads she sent. In the end, I went with simple and classic, but it took me a long long time to get there.
I loved the blue lampwork glass beads she made herself and decided to throw some of mine own in for a simply strung bracelet with the super cute clasp she added in. I'm happy with the result.
Next, I wire wrapped the ceramic rounds and made a cha cha like necklace with the pendant hanging in the middle. I so tried to make an asymmetrical design, but it just wasn't coming to me. Simple ended up being best in my opinion. The only thing I might change is to add some additional patina to the chain. I'm going to see how I like it first. :)
Normally, I would include a list of all of the participants below, but because I will be in Norway when the final list is published for the blog -- I'm including a link to Lori's blog to follow to see all of the amazing designs. I will update this once I'm back stateside to make it easier for future blog hoppers!
UPDATED -- Here is the link to the full party
Hope you have a "hopping" great time. :)
